Community Post: The ONE Thing I Can't Live WIthout

Welcome to the first of the new Community Post series! I wanted to kick this off with a list of things that women across Instagram and Facebook simply can't live without. Not sponsored, no advertising, just some everyday items that we LOVE and use every day. From beauty to water bottles, here are all the things YOU GUYS can't live without!

Okay, this one's mine - my planner and home calendar! I HATE using my phone or electronics for anything more than I need to (and Instagram. I love Instagram.) and it also doesn't do me much good because I like to leave it where I can't see it.

ENTER the planner. I've tried several, and right now am using the Recollections planner. It can be found at Michaels. This past week, they were 70% off! I put a lot of things in it-  work items, play dates, bills due, health items.... anything. We also have a calendar up in the kitchen that serves as the household command center. Long story short... I'd be super lost without it! Pictured is last year's Happy Planner and the available stickers were fun when I wanted to personalize the spread.

BEAUTY
For a lot of us, the mornings are hectic and having a couple of products that help us feel ready to join society without a ton of time in front of the mirror is a total game changer.

"Revlon Colorstay Liquid Lipstick. I am not a daily full makeup wearer, but most every day I put this lipstock on in the color Nude with a little mascara and I feel set. My lips are naturally really pale so I like to have just a little color. It's the perfect shade and I just put a little on and it lasts for most of the day." @nataliebena

"Texturizing Spray Wax. A little back story: I used to hate my hair. It was thin and wispy and had no body. I always wanted long, beautiful locks that I could curl, but that was not to be. One day I decided just to chop it all off. Best decision of my life and now my hair is my favorite feature. It truly fits who I am!" @utahwomensretreats

"This is my FAVORITE! I have used it for 5 years." @modestmadeeasy

"One thing I can't live without is Monat, the community of women it has led me to has been a saving grace for me. I've gained confidence, community and my hair has become so much healthier since having children." @lynmarie1313

FOOD AND DRINK

@sharp_territori says, "Can't live without my hyrdo flask! I got the big 40oz bottle, I take it with me everywhere, it keeps my water super cold and holds a ton so I keep my h2o intake high! *bonus* - this thing is solid and would knock someone out for you when you walk out to your car alone. Can be found on Amazon! I recommend the straw lid."

Triplet Mom @frypartyoffive swears by the pizza cutter she keeps in her purse. "From the time they first started eating solid food I've used a pizza cutter to quickly cut everything. I still use it often... and still carry one in my purse for restaurants!"

"GreenteaHP! Helps with metabolism, yummy, and lets be real... caffeine, even though it isn't much. Healthier than soda!" @shawnamurray45

AROUND THE HOUSE

"This is kind of weird, but I'd definitely say we can't live without our Mrs. Meyer's cleaning spray! We love it because it is made with natural ingredients and keeps our home smelling fresh." @sadie_banks

Thanks everyone for sharing! This was a really fun collaborative effort. Stay tuned for next week's community post!

"Mama, You Smell So Good!"

Today was one of those days where I just didn't feel like I was doing right by anyone I hold any responsibility towards. My baby had an 8:30 doctor's appointment, and the doctor was running 45 minutes late. My toddler was bored about 5 minutes in to our wait in the tiny exam room and both of us had exhausted each other's patience by the time we left at 9:30. The baby had a massive blowout, in his carseat , at the doctor's office, and I only had a spare onsie to put him into for the way back. I realized at the doctor's office that I would need to drive an hour round trip to pick up some business cards from my husband's car for a work appointment I had later that afternoon - so after the doctor, we hurried and drove down and then back to the house to eat a quick lunch and read a book before putting the boys down in hopes they would take a super brief nap before I had to wake them and drop them off at their Grandma's while I went to work. By the time we...

Cell Phone Addicted? You Can Fix That.

It wasn't until my son was about 3 months old that I realized exactly how addicted I was to my cell phone. Once he started becoming more alert and active, it became super apparent how compulsively I opened my phone to check Facebook, Instagram, email, or any other number of apps. I've never been one for games, but those can be totally distracting too. I made it my mission to break that addiction - I didn't want my son looking up at me, trying to get my attention, only to see me staring at my phone. The behaviors and habits we exhibit will be absorbed by our children. If I didn't want him to worship screen time or feel the need to constantly be entertained, then I certainly couldn't model that to him. Don't get me wrong - I'm not perfect at this by any means, but I have come a long ways and figured out several tips to keep my cell phone from running my life. Try one or two and see how much it changes yours! Get Rid of Social Media This might so...

Surviving Football Season Like a Boss

If you're anything like me, it happens like this. It's summer. Life is wonderful. It's warm, and you play outside, and your husband is always in a good mood because his team is neither winning or losing because they aren't in season. It's great. It's beautiful. And then, faster than a speeding ticket, your life is consumed - CONSUMED - by colorful jerseys, and mad dashes home from (insert event here) because "The Game" is about to start (which one? I swear "The Game" was last week. I'm so lost.) and in approximately 3.5 hours or 4 if there's overtime your better half will either be elated and or sulking, followed by reading ESPN's recap and asking what you thought about the Reverse Flea Flicker that altered the entire course of the game in the 3rd quarter. This will repeat several times a week for about 5 months and by the end of it you will start involuntarily dry heaving when you hear the words, "football" or ...
